Therapeutic Horseback Riding
The Children’s Center’s specially designed therapeutic horseback riding program is facilitated by NARHA trained certified recreational therapist (CTRS). The Children Center’s unique sensory integrative approach to therapeutic horseback riding benefits children with autism, sensory integration disorders, ADD/ADHD, learning disabilities, and related disorders. Therapeutic horseback riding provides many unique sensory experiences for the rider. Riding a horse offers activities to increase balance, coordination, gross and fine motor skills, and provides motivation for language and
social development.

Is an enjoyable non-competitive environment in which the child can learn and build
self-confidence.
The Therapeutic Horse:
Is a specially trained animal that is gentle, intelligent and provides our riders with unconditional compassion. The Children Center’s horses come from an expert horse trainer/handler who treats each animal humanely and gently, which in turn gives the horses a pleasant disposition and an eagerness to please.
